When looking at Week 4 fantasy football opportunities, some other wideouts are creating significant buzz beyond the established top tier players. Ladd McConkey is positioned for a breakout game against the Chargers in a very favorable matchup, making him an intriguing spot start this week.
Having analyzed countless wide receivers over my years covering fantasy football, I have learned to identify when struggling rookies are about to deliver their first major performance. Jakobi Meyers continues to climb my personal rankings as he provides consistent PPR value like always, while Emeka Egbuka leads the Buccaneers in routes run and continues to be on the field consistently.
From my perspective, these three players represent high spots opportunities where fantasy managers can expect another solid score without reaching for the WR1 slots. The matchup dynamics for week 4 suggest that rolling with these emerging talents could deliver big upside, especially when starting quarterbacks are healthy and the offense looked promising in past weeks. After going over numerous rankings, these wideouts shouldn’t be dropping any longer from consideration, as they still provide enough value to warrant fantasy consideration anywhere in your lineup decisions.
Sleeper Picks and Value Plays for Week 4
Emerging Breakout Candidates
This week brings exciting opportunities for fantasy managers willing to look beyond the elite names, and Ladd McConkey represents my top sleeper pick against the Chargers in what should be a breakout game. Having tracked rookie wideout performances for years, I’ve learned that underwhelming starts often precede explosive outings, and McConkey fits this pattern perfectly with his very favorable matchup. Malik Nabers deserves attention despite his lower ranking on most lists I’ve seen, but his tougher challenge against a solid defense makes me not that high on him this week.
Established Stars with Mixed Outlooks
Justin Jefferson remains a stud receiver even with a pretty average matchup against the Steelers, and Carson Wentz showed he can be a capable starter in week 3, which means I’m confidently starting Jefferson again this week. Why worry about Jordan Addison stealing targets when Jefferson has proven his dominance? Ja’Marr Chase presents the biggest question mark after his slow start to the season and the absence of Joe Burrow, forcing me to rank this Bengals’ wideout low despite his talent.
Strategic Considerations for Week 4
From my experience analyzing quarterback situations, rookie signal callers can create volatility that hurts consistent production, so I need to see it before I rank Nabers higher than this.
Actually, the key strategy involves identifying players like McConkey who are starring in favorable situations rather than chasing big names in difficult spots. I never thought I’d see Chase rank this low, but have no choice given current circumstances, while The Broncos defense in week 4 creates a tough matchup, so things don’t look great for Chase right now.
Rome Odunze
Rome Odunze represents a compelling fantasy option for week 4, especially considering his consistent target share despite a down performance in week 3 where he managed 62 yards and a score across three grabs from seven targets. I like his matchup against the Raiders enough to give him a top 10 fantasy ranking, as Chicago’s offense should bounce back from what was their worst showing recently, and Odunze finished with solid usage that suggests bigger things ahead.
Drake London
Drake London has not really broken out yet in 2025, making a pretty favorable matchup against the Commanders a prime chance for that to finally happen in spectacular fashion. London and the Falcons’ offense is looking for a bounceback performance, so I expect the top wideout to be heavily involved in game planning, leading to a big fantasy showing that could establish him as a weekly starter.
Tetairoa McMillan
I’m high on McMillan again, even after a down performance in week 3 that shouldn’t overshadow his overall potential moving forward. McMillan was still targeted heavily by his quarterback, and I think he delivers a great fantasy showing against the Patriots, who are a pretty favorable matchup for receivers looking to establish themselves as reliable weekly options.
Jakobi Meyers
Tre Tucker is the talk of the town this week, but it’s Meyers who I see starring in week 4 against the Bears as the safer and more reliable fantasy play. Chicago is one of the most favorable matchups for a wideout in the entire league, so that’s why I’m taking such an early swing on Meyers as a potential league winner.
A.J. Brown
A.J. Brown got things rolling a bit in week 3, and now faces a tougher test against the Buccaneers defense that could challenge his recent momentum. From my experience tracking receiver performances, I see him still doing enough in this one to land as a top 15 fantasy wideout in week 4, particularly given his ability to find the end zone in challenging matchups and create separation when it matters most.
Garrett Wilson
Garrett Wilson faces a bit of a tougher test against the Dolphins in week 4, but his consistent target share makes him a reliable play. He’s been quietly pretty good in the early going this season, and that gives me enough confidence to start him regardless of which Jets’ QB is throwing to him, as his route running and reliable hands translate across different quarterback styles.
Davante Adams
Davante Adams had a so so fantasy outing that was bailed out by a touchdown last week, but he has scored in two straight games which shows his red zone reliability. A week 4 test against the Colts is an average enough matchup for Adams to keep delivering solid fantasy totals, especially considering his veteran savvy and ability to find soft spots in coverage.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill has an above average matchup against the Jets in week 4, which should play perfectly into his explosive skill set and big play ability. He’s had a couple of good fantasy showings in a row, and I see him delivering a good final number again as Miami’s offense continues to find ways to get their star receiver involved in various packages and formations.
Brian Thomas
Brian Thomas has not gotten going yet this season, despite receiving plenty of targets from his quarterback, but he hasn’t caught enough passes to justify his draft position, connecting on just 33% of them through the first few weeks. He faces a below average matchup against the Niners this week, which makes me down on Thomas as a reliable fantasy option, but I’m still willing to put him in my top 20 due to his target share and big play potential when he does connect.
Emeka Egbuka
With Mike Evans likely out due to injury, Emeka Egbuka is likely going to serve as the primary WR1 for the Bucs, even if Chris Godwin is back and healthy for this contest. A pretty average matchup against the Eagles doesn’t scare me off from using the talented rookie, who has been great early on in establishing himself as a reliable red zone target and consistent performer.
Zay Flowers
Zay Flowers really disappointed fantasy owners in week 3 with a lackluster performance, so he takes a big hit in my rankings going into week 4 as punishment for his recent struggles. He has a below average matchup against the Chiefs defensive secondary, so we’ll see if he can bounce back from his disappointing showing and return to his early season form.
Courtland Sutton
Courtland Sutton has an average matchup against the Bengals in week 4, which should provide opportunities for solid fantasy production in what projects to be a competitive game. Sutton is coming off his best game in week 3 where he finally looked like the receiver we expected, and I see him shining in this one too as Denver’s primary aerial weapon.
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall has a very favorable matchup looming against the Jaguars defense, so I like him more than most analysts this week as a potential breakout candidate. Pearsall has been good in the early going this season, and I expect him to deliver again in week 4, regardless of who is throwing to him under center.
Jerry Jeudy
Jerry Jeudy has struggled to get rolling this season and is coming off his worst performance of the year, but in a pretty solid matchup, I like Jeudy bouncing back to his expected level of production. This could be his best fantasy showing yet if everything clicks, but I simply can’t rank him higher after what he’s shown so far this season.
Keenan Allen
Keenan Allen has been a top 10 fantasy wideout so far this season, so I’m on board with him in my top 30 for week 4 as a consistent weekly starter. This favorable matchup against the Giants is one to take advantage of, and I’m not done with it yet in terms of finding value plays.
Chris Olave
Chris Olave has been solid but unspectacular through three weeks of action, showing flashes without putting together a complete breakout performance. He gets the Bills in week 4, which is a below average matchup for receivers, but I still like Olave as I see the Saints passing a ton to try and keep up in what should be a high scoring affair.
Marquise Brown
Marquise Brown has failed to take off since his great week 1 showing against opponents, and he’ll eventually have more competition for targets and production as the season progresses. If Xavier Worthy is out again in week 4, then I see Brown doing enough for a top 30 spot against the Ravens, as Baltimore is a slightly above average matchup for a wideout.
George Pickens
I really wanted to take George Pickens higher in these rankings, but a very tough matchup against the Packers gives me reason not to elevate him further this week. Pickens should be the primary WR1 with CeeDee Lamb likely out, but Jake Ferguson is probably the better starting option this week for fantasy purposes, though Pickens is still worth a flex starting spot for a lot of standard fantasy owners out there.
Jaylen Waddle
I’m skipping some pretty good wideouts to get a second Dolphins’ wideout in my top 30 rankings this week. This matchup against the Jets is favorable enough to try Jaylen Waddle in more leagues than you think though, especially given Miami’s improved offensive chemistry.
DeVonta Smith
Again, here’s a WR2 that I’m taking over some WR1s in terms of weekly ranking and expected production. The matchup against the Bucs isn’t the best possible scenario, but I trust the Eagles’ offense more than some others that I am considering other wideouts from this week. DeVonta Smith has had pretty good numbers over the past two weeks, so I’m going to try him again this week.
Quentin Johnston
I told you I wasn’t done with the Chargers’ wideouts when building out these weekly rankings. He’s a top 10 fantasy wideout so far this season, so I think he deserves a spot in the top 30, especially because he’s been pretty consistent over the first three games of the campaign.
Deebo Samuel Sr.
Deebo Samuel gets the last spot in my top 30 rankings for week 4 as we round out the weekly recommendations. With Terry McLaurin banged up with injury concerns, Samuel should be the top pass catcher for the Commanders offense this week. With uncertainty around McLaurin and Jayden Daniels, this is the earliest I want to take Samuel in a very tough matchup against the Falcons.
